The Creative Leads
Our Story
The Galaxy Brain Experience began as a senior capstone project initiated by Joe Cahill. After writing the story using Galaxy Brain's music as inspiration, he teamed up with Wenyun Liu and Zoë Brielle Payne to make it into a full production combining hip-hop music, chamber music, dance, and animation.
The first performance of this piece happened at Joe Byrd Hall on April 15th, 2023. After receiving positive reviews including a shout out from the President of Peabody, they were inspired to continue the production after graduating Johns Hopkins. They applied to the Charm City Fringe Festival and were accepted.
After raising funds through kickstarter and their own pockets, The Galaxy Brain Experience performed 5 straight nights (10/4-10/8) at The Charm City Fringe Festival and won The Audience Choice Award.
In addition, the festival co-founder, Zachary Michel, on WYPR, described the production as, "screaming fringe", and recommends audience members to go check it out!
With the recent completion of the film, The Galaxy Brain Experience is currently reaching to film festivals across the country.
